I met German Nieves of Paterson about a year or so ago thru someone that connected us via email and we had a chance to finally meet IRL recently. German had a dope pop up at The Row in Downtown Los Angeles and he needed some images for social media to hype things up via the Instagram. He asked if I was down to shoot and of course I was with it, and when he showed me the location we would be shooting at - The Courts in Borrego Springs - I was super hyped.
I had actually never been to that desert town before, so that, coupled with a killer location for the day was really exciting. German and I made the 2-hour trek to The Courts where we linked up with Adil and Leah who own this amazing gem of a place. The Courts boasts 4 pristine tennis courts, a basketball hoop, a hitting wall and a nice pool to boot. We did a little tour prior to shooting, and afterwards we shot a few looks then we took a lunch break which was much needed after working out in that desert sun. Adil and Leah took us on a mini-tour of the immediate area and there was a lot of interesting things in such a tiny radius, which makes me think I need to return for the day and shoot some more.
